Facing his failure to protect Florida citrus against HLB/citrus greening, CRDF’s Rick Dantzler denies to the Florida Citrus Mutual board that he has been blowing growers’ money on the “research-industrial complex.”
Dantzler has been stung by criticism over his close ties to Germany’s Monsanto-Bayer conglomerate, paying the multibillion-dollar enterprise to develop ways to develop genetically mutated citrus to resist HLB.
“We are not there to support the Research-Industrial Complex,” Dantzler told the Florida Citrus Mutual board at its annual meeting on June 8. “We are there to solve a problem.”
