Dantzler says he really has a plan and isn’t ‘simply chasing the latest shiny thing’

CRDF’s Rick Dantzler tells growers that he really does have a strategy and isn’t chasing the latest shiny thing.

As if reviewing the CRDF’s 13 years of failures – including a wasteful bid to fund Monsanto-Bayer to create genetically modified citrus trees – COO Rick Dantzler assures growers that he really does have a strategy and isn’t “simply chasing the latest shiny thing.”

Writing in the January 2022 Grower Research Report, Dantzler announces that after 13 years, “we wanted to make sure we had a plan in place to address what needs to be done and weren’t simply chasing the latest shiny thing.”

He added, “And finally, we wanted growers and state policymakers (funders) to know that we weren’t funding everything that came along, that we had a strategy in place that would drive our overall research funding effort.”

It has taken since 2009, at least $180,000,000, and the loss of 5,500 Florida citrus growers for CRDF to get this far.
